Over a year since Pokémon Go introduced the Dynamax phenomenon to the location-based game, we’re finally getting the chance to catch a Dynamax Eevee. However, some trainers are questioning why we’re not getting the fluffy friend’s Gigantamax form instead.
The reasoning behind Pokémon Go’s Dynamax battle scheduling escapes me at the best of times, but I’m glad to see that everyone’s favorite normal Pokémon, Eevee, is finally making its debut. While it’s not as visually exciting as the Gigantamax form, which looks like the perfect cuddle buddy, Dynamax Eevee is significantly more versatile as an attacker in your upcoming Max Battles.
This is because Dynamax Eevee can evolve, whereas its Gigantamax form cannot. So catching one Dynamax Eevee opens up eight potentially powerful evolutions to perfectly counter your next Pokémon Go raid target. Floof lovers, do not fret, because there’s a Max Battle weekend coming up after Eevee’s debut, which could suggest that Gigantamax Eevee is still on the cards.
